Copyright policy

Hook processes video that our users bring to us. We don't choose that content and we don't review it before it's processed. If you own a copyright and believe your work has been used on Hook without permission, tell us and we'll act on it.

If you're a Hook user: you promised in our termsthat you have the rights to the videos you bring. This page is what happens when someone says you didn't.

Email hookclip.ai@gmail.com with the subject line Copyright notice. To let us act quickly, please include:

• The work you say has been infringed, and enough detail to identify it.
• Where on Hook the material is — a link or an account email if you have one.
• Your name, address, phone number, and email.
• A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

Please only send a notice if you actually hold the rights. Misrepresenting infringement can make you liable for damages, including our costs.

We remove or disable access to the material promptly, and we tell the user whose account it came from, passing on your notice.

Because Hook deletes media on a rolling schedule anyway — 7 days on most plans, a month on Studio — material is often already gone by the time a notice arrives. We'll confirm either way.

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, send a counter-notice to the same address including: the material and where it was, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was removed by mistake, your name, address and phone number, your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you're outside the US, any district in which we may be found), and your signature.

We'll pass it to whoever complained. If they don't go to court within the statutory window, we may restore the material.

We keep a record of copyright notices against each account. Accounts that repeatedly attract valid notices are terminated. This isn't discretionary — it's a condition of the protection every platform like ours relies on, and we enforce it.

We are completing our registration with the U.S. Copyright Office. In the meantime, notices sent to the address above reach us and are acted on exactly as described on this page.
