The short version: bring videos you have the rights to, use Hook for what it's built for, and pay for the plan you're on. The details are below.
By creating an account or using Hook, you agree to these terms. If you're using Hook on behalf of an organization, you're agreeing on its behalf. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
You keep ownership of the videos you upload or link and the clips Hook produces from them. You grant us the limited permission needed to download, process, store, and render that content so we can provide the service.
You promise you have the rights to every video you bring to Hook— whether you upload the file or paste a link. That means you own it, you licensed it, or your use is otherwise permitted. Don't bring content you have no right to, and don't use Hook to create material that is unlawful or infringes someone else's rights. This applies equally to the two ways in: uploading a file and pasting a URL are the same promise.
If someone brings a claim against us because of content you put through Hook, that's on you.You agree to defend us and cover our reasonable costs, losses, and legal fees arising from content you uploaded or linked, or from your breach of these terms. We may take over our own defence if we choose, and we'll tell you promptly about any claim we're asking you to cover.
To run the service we pass your content to a small number of providers acting on our behalf — transcription, AI analysis, hosting. The permission you grant above extends to them for that purpose only. They are named in our privacy policy.
Please don't:
If you breach these rules we may suspend or close your account. Where it's reasonable to do so we'll warn you first, but we don't have to when the breach is serious, unlawful, or ongoing. We terminate the accounts of repeat copyright infringers — see our copyright policy.
If we close your account for a breach, you lose access to the service and any unused portion of your plan. If we close it for any other reason, we'll refund the unused part of what you paid.
Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. Processing is metered through a per-account monthly token grant that refills each billing cycle to at least the full monthly amount; the limits for each plan are described on the pricing page. Faster AI models consume tokens at a higher rate, as disclosed where you pick the model.
You can cancel at any time from your account page. Cancelling tells us to stop your next renewal — we action it on the payment provider by hand, usually the same day, and we'll email you to confirm. If you're ever charged after cancelling, email us and we'll refund it in full. The plan stays active through the end of the period you've already paid for, and your library remains downloadable for that plan's normal window. If something isn't right in the first 7 days, email us and we'll refund you.
We work to keep Hook running but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may add, change, or remove features over time. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update the date below and, where appropriate, let you know.
Hook is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
You can close your account at any time — cancel your plan from the account page, then email us to have the account and its data removed.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that we reasonably believe exposes us or others to legal risk, or that hasn't paid. Where it's reasonable we'll give notice and a chance to put it right.
When an account ends, your library is deleted on the normal schedule for your plan. Download anything you want to keep before then.
We may change our prices. If we do, we'll tell you by email at least 30 days before it takes effect, and the new price applies from your next renewal — never mid-cycle. If you don't want the new price, cancel before it starts and you won't be charged it.
If one part fails, the rest stands. If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the remaining parts still apply, and that part is treated as narrowed to whatever is enforceable rather than deleted.
These terms are the whole agreement. They replace anything said elsewhere — on our marketing pages, in an email, or in conversation — about what Hook does and what you get.
Some parts outlive the account. The sections on your content, indemnity, disclaimers, and liability continue to apply after your account ends, for things that happened while it was open.
Assignment. You can't transfer your account to someone else without asking us. We may transfer these terms to a successor if the business changes hands, and we'll tell you if that happens.
Things outside our control. We're not liable for failures caused by events we can't reasonably control — outages at our providers, network failures, or a third-party platform changing how it works.
Notices. We'll contact you at the email address on your account; keep it current. You can reach us at hookclip.ai@gmail.com.
